Ubuntu 18.04 LTS support for DVI2USB 3.0

Hi,

I recently obtained a DVI2USB 3.0 device and I have the same question as this one:

https://epiphan.com/forum/t/support-for-newer-ubuntu-linux-versions-18-04-and-up/1521

The linked thread contains a link to DVI2USB 3.0 kernel modules for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / kernel 4.18 (which is still not linked on the support page, btw.) The current version of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS comes with kernel 5.0. Any chance to get the modules compiled for this version? This is supposedly a supported OS version.

Thanks so much

You can download DVI2USB 3.0 drivers for Ubuntu 18.04 running kernel 5.0 here: http://updates.epiphan.com/downloads/Drivers/Ubuntu/1804_usb/vga2usb-3.31.3.3-ubuntu-5.0.0-31-generic-x86_64-46982-1816.deb

Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll give these a try.

Thanks again, this worked. Do you happen to also have a version for kernel 4.19, the current LTS release?

Sorry no, for Ubuntu 18.04 I have versions that support kernels 4.15, 4.18, 5.0 and 5.3

Ok, would you mind posting the link for the 5.3 version as well?

I’m also interested in the packages for Debian. Unfortunately both links listed on the support page

https://www.epiphan.com/support/dvi2usb-3-0-software-documentation/?utm_source=Support&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=DVI2USB3.0

are dead. Thanks for your help!

edit: Actually, the links on the support page are also for old versions of Debian. I’m interested in modules for the current Debian 10(.1) “Buster”.

Sure thing, the Ubuntu 18.04 kernel 5.3 drivers can be downloaded here: http://updates.epiphan.com/downloads/Drivers/Ubuntu/1804_usb/vga2usb-3.31.0.0-ubuntu-5.3.0-19-generic-x86_64-44835-1817.deb

Debian 10 drivers can be downloaded here: http://updates.epiphan.com/downloads/Drivers/Debian/10/vga2usb-3.31.0.0-debian-4.19.0-6-amd64-x86_64-44835-1817.deb
