No HDMI Audio recognized

I’m trying to pull in a feed via hdmi from a bell satellite box. I get video just fine but no audio. The audio is enabled and not muted, but nothing shows on the meters. If I unplug the pass-through, there’s no change. If I connect the hdmi straight from the bell box to the tv, there is audio from the TV speakers. I hooked up audio RCA cables from the box to the nano, and I get audio when I add it to the layout. Is there something I’m missing? I need the HDMI audio to work as the rca option won’t be possible for my deployed solution. Thanks.

I am going to assume your issue is related to High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). This is likely why an RCA audio option works for you but not audio via the HDMI connection which is HDCP compliant.

Agreed - the Bell box is most certainly going to inject HDCP into the HDMI signal to prevent devices from recording its output. RCA takes the analog audio from the box which has no such protections.
