How to show media during a stream

I need to show a static photo during an “intermission” of a live stream. How do I switch to the media stored on the Nano during the stream?

Hello Gerald,
Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding the Pearl Nano! Unfortunately, the Pearl Nano does not have any sort of switching capability. To switch to something else, such as an intermission media file, you would need to edit the Layout of the Pearl Nano to remove the video and replace it with the image.

Another option would be to load the intermission image as the 'Custom No Signal Image’ for your video input, and when the time comes for an intermission you could simply turn off that video signal, or disconnect it from the Nano. Then turn it back on or reconnect it when the intermission is over.

You could also put a video switcher of some kind upstream from the Pearl Nano. This switcher would allow you to switch between different video inputs, and output the currently selected source to the Pearl Nano.

I hope that this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions, you can also reach us by email at support@epiphan.com.

Understood. Thank you for the response.

Do the other Epiphan devices support this switching between sources?

Thanks

Gerald

You’re welcome! Yes, the Pearl Mini, Pearl Nexus, and Pearl-2 all support switching between multiple layouts, as well as multiple channels so you can record/stream different video sources simultaneously.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!
