Connecting Epiphan Edge via a proxy

Hi there,
We have a couple of Epiphan Pearl-2’s in our enterprise network and plan to grow this number by a lot. Currently we have no issues accessing the control URL, streaming via RTMP, using NDI & HLS etc. The issue we do have is connecting to Epiphan Edge. I spoke to Epiphan’s support team and we discuessed that it may be because we need to connect to edge (go.epiphan.com) via a proxy, which we use throughout our enterprise. To connect via RTMP we have a firewall exemption.

Has anyone else been in this or a similar situation? Or any advise of if there is a work around? I have a product request in with QUMU already for ability to direct via a proxy.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello cjmccoll,

Jumping in here that you may also need to whitelist the following FQDN with your firewall, which is the remote login server:

support.md.epiphan.com

and for Epiphan Cloud itself;

go.epiphan.cloud

If needed, you can navigate to go.epiphan.cloud and download the certificate from your browser. Noting, we cannot help setup your proxy as this is beyond our scope of support.

In the future, we are hoping you would be able to point Pearl devices to a HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy, but I am uncertain as to when this would be made available.
