Av.io hd error streaming obs

Hi, I have the av.io hd capturer and I cannot capture my ps4, it fails in the video capture, I have to configure something or install something? or is it that it has come to me defective?

Hello,

In what way exactly is it failing?

There is a configuration tool you can use, though it’s mainly for upgrading firmware, it shouldn’t be needed for capturing with OBS unless the reason it is failing is due to firmware, which is unlikely but you can certainly try, you can download the configuration tool and the firmware here: https://www.epiphan.com/support/avio-hd-software-documentation/ (under the Software tab).

You can view our user guide for step by step instructions on updating firmware: https://www.epiphan.com/userguides/avio-hd/Content/UserGuides/VideoGrabber/UVC/4-Configure/updateFirmware.htm?Highlight=firmware

Something else that may be occurring is HDCP may be enabled on the PS4. HDCP is a signal encryption method which would prevent the AV.io HD from capturing the signal from the PS4, it usually manifests as a black image. You can learn how to disable that feature here: https://manuals.playstation.net/document/gb/ps4/settings/hdcp.html

If these options still doesn’t work to resolve your issue, please send an email with as much detail as you can (pictures, video etc. if needed) to info@epiphan.com and we will open a support ticket to continue troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks,
