Audio pitched up on stream

We are having a wierd problem with the pitch of streamed audio going to YouTube. I haven’t added this thread to the YouTube section as I suspect it would be the same with any streaming destination (though we only use YouTube). We get a warning to say the audio sample rate is a little off the expected at 44800Hz but another thread suggest this warning can be ignored. There is also a thread about audio being off pitch but it’s not the same issue as we are seeing.

The audio reaching the X2 is fine and the pitch is correct (I have proved this) but in the YouTube stream it is significantly pitched up. The stream audio is only ever talking and there is a definite tendency towards the chipmunk the audio that reaches YouTube.

No idea what is going wrong here but my suspicion lies somewhat in the difference between the expected sample rates and the actual sample rate. Would the X2 for instance accept the audio at 44800 but stream it at one of the expected sample rates of 44100 or 48000 in the process causing a pitch shift?

Any suggestions on how to resolve are welcome.

Interesting, normally we are only getting reports of the pitch issue being present on the HDMI output of the Webcaster. But you hear this on the YouTube stream itself?

It must be the audio sample rate, unfortunately there aren’t any settings within the Webcaster itself for this. I would recommend looking for settings within the HDMI source itself to see if you can change the sample rate there.

Thanks for the reply. The audio source is actually a sound desk and is being added to the HDMI source via an embedder. Unfortunately there aren’t any options to adjust the outputted sample rate on either the sound desk or the embedder (that I am aware of). I guess I’ll have to see if there is another box I can put in line to ‘fix’ the sample rate.
