Set a Reset PIN

You can set a Reset PIN code to protect from unauthorized application of the built-in configuration presets such as Default Configuration preset and the Easy Mode configuration preset via the touch and front screens on Pearl Nano, Pearl Mini and Pearl Nano. It can also be used to prevent users from using Pearl Nanofront screen to factory reset the device. By default, the Reset PIN is not set.

If a Reset PIN is configured, users are prompted to enter the PIN code whenever:

  • You want to use the touch screen of Pearl Mini and Pearl-2 or the front screen of Pearl Nanoto apply the Default Configuration preset.
  • You want to perform a factory reset of Pearl Nano using its front screen.

Set a Reset PIN security code using the Admin panel

  1. Log in to the Admin panel as admin, see Connect to the Admin panel.
  2. From the Configuration menu, select Touch Screen (Front screen for Pearl Nano) . The Touch screen/Front screen configuration page opens.
  3. Enter a 4 to 12-digit PIN code in the Reset PIN field, then click Apply. The Pearl Nano can only accept 4 digits.

    4. Record the PIN code in a safe location for future reference. You need this PIN to apply the built-in configuration presets and to factory reset (Pearl Nano) via the front screens.
